Another “Doomsday Message” Going On?

Actually it is NOT THAT SERIOUS but it is for some high-level Business Owners or Internet and Online Marketers!

Google’s Update On 21 April 2015

What I am hinting is all about Google’s Update on 21 Apr 2015 (next fortnight!)… Before you let that data on your mind thinking this is another sales pitch, READ ON!

If you already knew this, then you could be feeling that there will be people screaming or shouting “Watch Out!”, “Run Away!”, “Do Something!”, “Help!” or perhaps a majority of people will just ask “What Happen?” on 22 Apr 2015 (the next day)

Lately, you might be hearing or receiving email messages with Subject Headers that includes “Google’s Mobilegeddon”, “Google MICE”, “The BIG Google ‘Mobile Friendly’ Algorithm” and what-have-you.

All these episode reminded me about the Personal Computer Saga at the end of the 20th Century, 31st December 1999, when the whole world is “worried” about the computer going “busted” or “goes DEAD” at the stroke of midnight because “theoretically” it cannot clock the date at “01/01/2000 0:0:01”

For months, IT Companies and Specialists will convinced you to upgrade your computer software including BIOS or change it to a completely newer generation PC. So, who got to gain much from this episode? Obviously the one who “spread the bad news” and those who “added fuel to the charcoal or fire” right?

Then another doomsday message came, which has no relevance to the Internet matter but has the same cause and effect and that is the “End Of The Word” Prophecy at 2013 with talks about the “alignment of all the planets in the Solar System”, or that the “Maya’s Calendar” had reach its last day in their cycle and blah blah blah. Again, who benefits from this episode? Yes, you guess right, it’s the people who had a “secret agenda” and that is why they were spreading the news like wild fire. As far as I know, there are people worldwide stocking up their home storeroom with months of rations so that they can outlast the “catastrophe”.

Another “Doomsday” Familiarity Stance On 21st April?

Or how about visiting the page this Google’s Mobilegeddon emailer sent me?

Similarly with the above 2 “Doomsday” scenario, who do you think would benefit most at the end of the day? I do not know what your analysis will be BUT I am pretty sure these 3 parties of people will BENEFIT MOST,

1. Google Themselves!

2. Mobile Solution’s Providers

3. SEO Specialists / Companies

Perhaps, someone visiting here might think that I am being bias about Google and their action BUT there is a Chinese Idiom (somewhat interpreted) that says “When There Is No Wind, There Will Be No Waves!”. Read this article titled “Has Google Manipulated Search For Personal Gain?” and hopefully it will change your perspective somewhat.

But, to be on the fair side of Google, I would also like to think that since the world’s non-mobile websites could be in the range of 50-50, then from the 177 Million Active Websites as shown on this page, will they ignore at least 88 Millions of them? Is it possible for Google to risk not having anything to do with them? In a business sense or point-of-view, NOT LIKELY!

SO, there is a possibilities that the 21st April 2015 Google’s Algorithm Updates is not as bad as it seems. End of day, do your due diligence before “hopping on to the wagon” to get your site SEOed or converted to a Mobile Ready website, just because someone tells you so.

If you are still worried, why not do some test and convert your website or blog to a Mobile-Friendly website instead? 😀
